Maureen J. Brierton

Maureen J. Brierton graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History. She then relocated to New York City, where she worked in the fine arts field, as well as in advertising and commercial production, managing small businesses. During that time, she oversaw the expansion of several small businesses and worked closely with company owners and their tax and financial teams to ensure the financial stability of small business owners and their families.

During this period, she earned her Juris Doctor from Pace University School of Law, now known as the Elizabeth Haub School of Law. She met her husband in New York City, where they started their family. The family later relocated to the Hudson Valley, where they raised their two children.

Maureen began practicing law as a solo practitioner in the Hudson Valley, with a focus on family law, including guardianships, before joining the Dutchess County Public Defender's Family Court Unit, where she advocated for clients in Family Court in matters such as custody, family offenses, and neglect. Prior to joining the Law Office of Rachel Flanagan Frost, she served as a Senior Assistant County Attorney for Dutchess County, litigating for the well-being of children.

With her experience working with small business owners and her understanding of their concerns, along with her knowledge of the intersection of tax and financial matters, Maureen brings this background to the Law Office of Rachel Flanagan Frost. She now counsels clients on estate planning and guides them as they navigate probate matters. Each client brings a unique set of circumstances, and Maureen works closely with her clients to understand their needs and offer counsel on the options that best meet those needs.
